Practically Einstein
Practically Einstein
This show will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Practically Einstein lineup. Though PE continues to record and tour with a different lineup to this day, this show will reunite the founding members, who formed as a trio first called "Slowpoke" 20 years ago in Arlington, VA. Band leader and singer/guitarist Brad Pugh will welcome back bassist Paul Schmidtke (from New Orleans) and drummer/songwriter Dave Moran. Added to the mix will be lead guitarist Smilin' Rob Kuczynski, who joined the band a few years after the original trio formed and does still perform with PE today.

Performing timeless music once called "misery pop", PE will break out a set of songs that showcases the trademark soulful rock groove (influenced by such acts as Crowded House, the Replacements, the Cure, Buffalo Tom, Gin Blossoms, Pearl Jam, Pete Yorn and the Cult) with its unique combination of passionate and cynical lyrics weaved together with bittersweet melodies that pack a punch. PE received airplay locally, regionally and internationally with such songs as "Faithful Boy", "Hollywood Fight" and "Dead Weight".

Practically Einstein has performed over the years at such venues as the 9:30 Club, CBGB's, Rock & Roll Hotel, The Howlin' Wolf, Bottle & Cork, IOTA, Seacrets and The State Theatre, as well as countless other pubs, clubs and festivals. They have performed from NYC to NC to NOLA, as well as Europe, and shared the stage with such acts as the Violent Femmes, OK GO, Cowboy Mouth, Eve 6, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, SOJA, Run-DMC, Flogging Molly, Carbon Leaf and the Old '97's.

Listen to PE on Spotify and iTunes.

The Silent Critics
The founding members of The Silent Critics, Ryan Coughter and Liam Garland met at college their freshman year. For a class project, Ryan, who had been playing guitar since he was a kid, wrote two songs. He asked Liam to sing the songs with him in class and after receiving great reviews they decided to start playing together at local bars in Fredericksburg, VA. With the help of family, great friends and many bars TSC soon had a following. Along they way they have picked up guitar players, singers, dancers, drummers, friends, pianists, kids, and wives. Their current iteration consists of 4 performers, 3 wives, 1 girlfriend, and 5 kids (two on the way). They have recorded 3 records and are in the process of completing their fourth that will be out in 2018 (fingers crossed). The Silent Critics are a family please, join the family May 11th.
