Jasmine Gillison "Little Light" Album Release
Jasmine Gillison "Little Light" Album Release
Jasmine Gillison’s debut album Little Light has been a long time coming, though she never imagined it as a bright-eyed 5th grader playing in the school band. It wasn’t until after college, thanks to the encouragement of friends, that she got up in front of a crowd at a local Open Mic Night and performed her first official set - a few cover songs on guitar. Thanks to those friends, she's been writing and performing ever since.

Open Mic Nights became a second home for Jasmine as she began to write her own songs and collaborate with other musicians. The local music community proved to be a consistent source of love and support. IOTA Club & Cafe, a now closed music venue in Clarendon, VA, was a particularly important part of Jasmine’s journey. It fostered many important friendships, experiences, and memories that fueled some of the songs that now find their home on Little Light.

The debut EP is a bit of a departure from her usual acoustic performances, with new arrangements highlighting the depth and width of Gillison’s aptitude for storytelling. Jasmine was fortunate to work with many talented musicians in the DC/MD/VA area on this project, including Producer Ben Tufts (educator and percussionist in bands such as FuzzQueen, Virginia Creep and Uptown Boys Choir), Producer and Session Bassist Howard Rabach of Machine Room Studio in Arlington, VA., as well as a host of other musicians and great friends. The collective effort has resulted in the exciting new body of work that is Little Light. The Little Light Album Release show will be a unique opportunity to see Jasmine and her full band bring these stories to life on stage in a way that they have never been experienced before.

Jasmine has performed around the DC/MD/VA area at venues such as Jammin Java, Union Stage and Black Cat, as well as at events such as the Del Ray Music Festival. She contributed a song to the Acoustic Guitar Project in 2015 for the DC area and has performed in Philadelphia, NYC, Austin, TX and Paris, France.

“...Gillison, with a powerful and deeply engaging presence, impressed me with a bravery in her story-telling voice that leaves me to believe that Gillison’s peak as a singer-songwriter sits atop a universal range.” - BeardedGentlemenMusic.com
Laura Tsaggaris
Laura Tsaggaris
Laura Tsaggaris writes and performs songs on acoustic & electric guitar, piano, and ukulele. Her albums span the genres of Folk (EP– 2001, Proof– 2005), Rock (Keep Talking– 2009), AAA/Alt-Country (EVERYMAN– 2013), and Americana (Live At The Atlas– 2015). Chunky Glasses calls her “a skilled assured artist,” and AmericanaUK affirms, “Laura is real talent.”

Fan contributions and CD pre-orders of over $20,000 funded Laura’s latest record, Live At The Atlas. The album’s focus is acoustic, and it features the new song “To Sleep Is To Dream” along with fresh arrangements of 16 others from her previous albums. “Live At The Atlas” was recorded before a live audience at The Atlas Performing Arts Center in the historic H Street Corridor of Washington, D.C. and released at the legendary 9:30 Club.
Laura’s most recent studio album, EVERYMAN, was produced by Jamie Candiloro (REM, Willie Nelson) and invites comparisons to Bonnie Raitt and Sheryl Crow. It features backing vocals from Ryan Adams, guitar work from Doug Pettibone (Lucinda Williams, Ray LaMontagne) and pedal steel from Marty Rifkin (Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty). Film talents David Conrad (Wedding Crashers, The Ghost Whisperer) and Mark Schwartzbard (20 Feet From Stardom, Borat) shot the video for the first single, “Dig,” close to my hometown in Pittsburgh. The music video for the album’s second single, “Ask For It,” is made up of footage from a sold out release show at one of D.C.’s top venues, The Hamilton..
Nardo Lilly
Nardo Lilly
Nardo Lilly is a local singer-songwriter whose music has been best described as "quirky confessionalism." Her music's vulnerable revelations pull at the heartstrings and topics ranging from Star Trek to the National Park Service appear to sandpaper the emotional edge off with laughs. She has performed at the 9:30 Club, in local living rooms, and everywhere in between.
