Chuck Brown Band
Chuck Brown Band
The Chuck Brown Band toured the world with the Godfather of Go Go for the most prolific period of his life, when he had 5 Billboard charting releases and a Grammy nomination over a ten year period. They continue to honor him by carrying the torch, keeping the beat alive and the party going. Chuck Brown was always known for having only the best musicians from DC in his band. This often translated into having the best musicians, period. With the addition of Frank Sirius leading the band forward on guitar and vocals, the Chuck Brown Band is arguably the Crankin’est Band on the Planet. Chuck’s daughter KK has always been a part of the show, and Chuck’s son Wiley Brown has joined the band, keeping Chuck’s “Family Affair” vibe as much a part of the band as it is a part of the relationship between the band and the audience. Digging through the vault of Chuck Brown classics from Run Joe and Go-Go Swing to more recent hits like Chuck Baby, the Chuck Brown Band combines the best of the Godfather and the best of Go-Go in an uplifting, show stopping performance. Infusing the Godfather’s mix of jazz, funk, and soul, along with audience call and response, his legacy continues. The Chuck Brown Band has been joined on stage by Ledisi, George Clinton, Dwele, Raheem DeVaughn, Lil Mo, Doug E Fresh, and others.

The Godfather may be gone, but his legacy continues as the Chuck Brown Band carries his funky groove forward without missing a B-E-A-T. Wind Us Up, Chuck!

Happy Hour Show! Harry Jay
Harry Jay is a funk/ RnB/ hip-hop artist, who began his career in his first year at Berklee College of music, honing his craft and combining elements of the DC RnB scene with the musical concepts learned in the classroom. His 4+ octave vocal range and soulful tendencies have earned him high acclaim in both the Boston and DC musical communities. Along with the beginning of his songwriting career, Harry Jay formed his band, The Bling, in his first semester at Berklee. Comprised of all DC area natives who attend Berklee, the Bling has been known for their incredibly authentic, energetic, and soulful live performances, as well as their exuberant onstage outfits.
The group has become a bit of an overnight success, with their first EP, “Truth,” reaching number 1 on Bandcamp’s Neo Soul chart within 5 hours of its release. The band has also been featured on various radio stations and blogs, being described as “Effortlessly Cool” by Atwood Magazine’s Kaitlyn Zorilla, as well as "A musical lovechild of Steely Dan and Jamiroquai" by Earbits Radio's Dave Sorrendino. The group’s sound is an intriguing blend of modern jazz and old soul, as the ultimate goal is to pay homage to the pioneers of RnB while generating a new, exciting sound.
The Band has also experienced great live success, completing a 5-week headlining tour in the summer of 2017 on the east coast of the United States, and selling out shows regularly in the Boston and Washington DC area. Their live performances have been described as explosive, exciting, and memorable by those who have seen them.
