Naptown Brass Band
Naptown Brass Band
Naptown Brass Band plays second line street beat music, New Orleans style. The group is based out of Annapolis, Maryland and performs regularly throughout the mid-atlantic region. Naptown Brass Band is known to their fans as facilitators of good times, and their performances quickly become a party filled with dancing, moving, and grooving. Some of the influences for the band consist of: Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, The Meters, Kirk Joseph, and Allen Toussaint.
The rhythm section provides the foundation for the band and is lead by Dave Bontempo (Sousaphone), Rob Bontempo (Washboard), Jared Skora (Bass Drum), and Keith Manuel (Snare Drum). The tight rhythms and locked in grooves allow the horns to flow freely which creates the Naptown vibe! The trumpets, trombones, and saxophones all blend perfectly and combine with the drums, percussion, and sousaphones in an intoxicating groove.
Boaty Otis
Boaty Otis
What is a Boaty Otis? It's the off-brand cereal that leaves a little scuzz in the bucket; it's the booty shorts that put the see in sea-legs. A swampy blend of Appalachian fiddle, southern R&B, and Eastern European brass, the band features members of Second String Band, Bearcat Wildcat, Handsome Hound, and Bleach Bones. Playing loud honking tunes with dirty finger nail beats that make you want to boogie, Boaty Otis wants to help you live your best life. Get ready. Get sweaty. Get BOATY.
