Born in Guyana, South America and raised in Brooklyn, New York, attended parochial school then Hunter College, majored in physical therapy, I married a Guyanese, and raised three beautiful daughters, we moved to Philadelphia, Pa. in November 1989. Separated from my husband after 26 yrs. of marriage, I moved to Washington, DC in 2001, where I continued my work in Special education and met my, now ex-husband and sax player, Walter Tates, Jr.

My musical journey began in the former, British Guiana when, at age two, my Mom loaned me to The Salvation Army to sing on the street corners of Georgetown. They introduced me to my first tambourine and I sang and danced until the present.
I was exposed to World and Caribbean music by my Daddy, born in Trinidad, WI. Started playing with reggae bands since at the age of 16 and through the years have shared the stage with numerous reggae, Blues and R&B artists including Ben E. King, Sarah Vaughn, Third World, Sugar Minnot, Freddie McGregor, Marcia Griffiths, The Mighty Sparrow, InnaSense, Caribbean Connection, Tribal Legacy and since moving to DC I performed with my ex-husband’s band, One Nite Stand, at Madam’s Organ Blues Night Club,for ten years, toured and recorded with Thievery Corporation, including reggae super stars, Jamaica’s Sleepy Wonder, St.  Croix’s Christopher Smith aka Ras Puma, Brothers Rootz & Zee of See-I, Jamaica’s Notch, Brazil’s Seu Jorge and Africa born, Sitali Siyolawe, from 2004 through 2012 and  many of the top reggae artists in the DMV. Just to name a few, Performed at Bukom African Cafe and other venues throught The DMV, with The Image Band, the late Willie Paul and DKGB, I and I Riddim, Carl Malcolm and Positive Vibrations, Lenny Kurlou and the KRA, Sister Ichelle Cole and Strykers Posse, Englishman, of Shango Productions, Peter Humphrey and the Oasis Band, Henry and the Reggae Rockers and some of DC’s Five Diamond musicians, Cathy Ponton King, Memphis Gold, Tony Harrod, Biscuit Bynum, BT Richardson, Ronnie Hinton, Rod Gross and currently perform with my own band, Sista Pat’s One Vibe throughout the DMV.  I live the LIFE that I LOVE and LOVE the LIFE I LIVE!  My band frequently perform at The Stein Room, in Silver Spring, MD and at Kalypso’s Sports Lounge, in Reston, Virginia.

No oversize bags or backpacks will be allowed into the venue. All bags/purses are subject to search. The Mezzanine is accessed by a staircase.
