About This Event
On Friday DEC 10 Please join us as we welcome The Pinkerton Rain + The Last Real Circus to our stage for a night of Americana roots rock.
This is a FREE SHOW!!
The Pinkerton Raid‘s Jesse James DeConto grew up in New England, with Dad’s guitar and Mom’s radio tuned to Soulsville, the Village, Liverpool and Laurel Canyon. Those inheritances mingle with foothills-folk in Durham, N.C., yielding songs Americana UK calls “anthemic.” Critics hear influences from Neil Young to The National. “You won’t be able to stop humming,” said No Depression. The Pinkerton Raid has played with Illiterate Light, Ballroom Thieves, Lowland Hum and Noah Gundersen. Back-to-back releases in 2017 & 2018 brought them from Charleston to Chicago to Brattleboro, Vt., with slots at EnoFest, Shakori Hills and Daytrotter and acclaim from Paste, Popdose, Aquarian Weekly and more. In 2020-2021, the band has been releasing a series of indie-rock singles. American Songwriter called “Dream the Sun” a “radiant … message of hope.” Glide Magazine said “Rebel Mama Blues” “purrs with the garage rock swagger of The White Stripes and the irritated kick of Cage the Elephant,” while The Big Takover called it “a blast of zeitgeist-capturing political garage-psych … Bowie-meets-Black Keys.” Their fifth full-length album is due out in 2022.
The Last Real Circus are a Southern Indie rock band based out of Washington DC, and Richmond, VA. Members include: Jason Farlow (Lead Vocals, Guitar), Kevin Vorhis (Drums & Percussion/Sound Engineer), Brian Berry (Bass), Michael Lamp (Lead Guitar) and Ian Atchison (Piano, Synthesizer and vocals) The band has quickly gained a big following with loyal fans from all over, with their soulful heartbeat singles, “Chaplin’s Life,” and “Nottoway.” With the addition of their new originals “Diana (Oh La La)”, “Here We Go“ and “Stoned (On A Different Kind of Love)” to the set list, The Last Real Circus are coming into their own as an act! Currently, The Last Real Circus are coming off of last year’s tour, along with adding some additional members to the band during the break. The band’s stripped back raw sound draws heavily from artists that influenced them including: “The Lumineers”, “King’s of Leon”, “Counting Crows”, “Rainbow Kitten Surprise (RKS),” “Mumford and Sons”, “Tom Petty”, “Alabama Shakes,” “The Head and the Heart”, “Mt. Joy”, and others alike. They are known for their energetic stage presence, storytelling and overall musicianship.
