21+Eli Waltz is an Americana folksinger, songwriter and bandleader.Eli incorporates a fingerpicking style modeled on folk legend Townes Van Zandt, and draws upon the vocal stylings of Ray Lamontagne and John Lee Hooker. His songwriting is heavily influenced by the works of Kris Kristofferson and Bob Dylan.Eli was inspired early on by recordings of Howlin Wolf and Little Walter. They and other blues giants influence Elis gruff, dynamic singing voiceas well as his impassioned harmonica solos. For Eli, travel and music are inextricably linked. He cut his teeth busking in the streets of Medellin, Tel-Aviv, and Dali, China. And for a long spell, he lived and performed in Beijing. Eli Waltz now lives in Washington, D.C.His group performs regularly in the DMV, with upcoming tours around the country. This show is 21+ only. YOU MUST HAVE A VALID PHYSICAL ID. Pierce Edens w/ Burt Dirt + Probably Whiskey

All bags/purses are subject to search. This show is G.A. Seating will be first come first serve. The Mezzanine is accessed by a staircase. For ADA seating requirements please contact the venue directly before purchasing tickets.Over the last ten years, Pierce Edens has been drawing on his Appalachian songwriting roots and blending them with the grungy rock and roll sounds that took him in his teenage years. The result is a haunting and fiery mixture that is notoriously hard to pin down. Allmusic.com classifies Edens as both Folk-Rock and psychedelic-grunge, and No Depression writer Bill Kopp says [He] could just as easily- and accurately- be tagged with the singer/songwriter label; Hes a gritty troubadour who takes what he needs from each style, blending and bending it to suit the needs of his songs. Or, as Fred Mills state in Blurt Magazine, Somewhere up there in the hills of western North Carolina a lot of bodies are buried, and Pierce Edens is the man with the locations. Theres no evidence that a cop, D.A. or judge can bring forth, mind you, but he clearly knows something; you can hear it in his twisted, tortured vocal bray [] a soulful-yet-serrated instrument that conveys far more than even its owner might intend. Now, in his fifth fully independent album (Stripped Down Gussied Up), Edens has taken his singular voice back home to his studio in Western North Carolina to bury some more bodies. This album witnesses Edens stripping down the instrumentation to simply the vocals, percussion, and guitar, alongside his long time band-mate Kevin Reese accompanying with lead guitar, mandolin, and occasional banjo for a handful of genre-bending songs. Stripped Down Gussied Up delivers Edens signature sound as it should be heard; intimate and atmospheric, glittery, gritty, and raw.

The Way Down Wanderers sing like angels but write songs with guts that are unmistakably earthbound: a soon-to-be dad, excited but scared, fighting for self-growth; someone recovering from alcohol dependency, devoted to healing but with a confession to make––there are no fairytales here. And yet, the music begs an unapologetically Pollyanna question, like a big-hearted dare: Can a song help save you?

“I think when we strive to be the best versions of ourselves, and to accept other people that we don’t understand, that all works toward creating a culture we strive for,” says Collin Krause, one of The Way Down Wanderers’ two lead songwriters and vocalists. “Part of that process really is working on yourself––and self-forgiveness. At the end of the day, we’re not going to be perfect. The idea is to recognize that, and to try to forgive yourself if you can––and to try to move on and make progress

Danger Bird is the Mid-Atlantic’s premier Neil Young tribute band. Launched in 2016, Danger Bird has been packing venues and thrilling audiences ever since their very first performance. Comprising five seasoned veterans of the DMV (DC, MD, VA) live music scene, their experience and professionalism ensure consistently excellent and entertaining shows. Drawing from Neil’s acoustic days in the Toronto folk scene, through the golden sound of the Buffalo Springfield in L.A., the proto-grunge of Crazy Horse, the shimmering vocals of CSNY, the country roots of The Stray Gators and The International Harvesters, all the way to the raw energy of The Promise of the Real, Danger Bird digs deep into the catalog of one of the greatest songwriters ever. They take their audience on a “Journey Through the Past”, spinning the story of Neil Young and his music. Their vocal harmonies and faithful arrangements will have you believing you are hearing the great man himself.

It’s hard to stay still around these boys. They’ve got that toe-tapping, knee-slapping, boot-stomping kind of sound. They get you moving and shaking. Buffalo Wabs & The Price Hill Hustle—part rowdy honkytonk, part old-time pioneers—equates to a sound that sticks with your soul and leaves you singing barefoot into the star sky.

They pull from all sorts of genres—from Lead Belly to John Prine, from Woody Guthrie to Willy Tea Taylor —to create something unique and deep-rooted. These guys lean into the rhythms of the Ohio River Valley—where they’ve walked upon—and look to the songs in the muddy water and the tradition it carries.

To get “hustled” is to get the full-body musical experience—that head-boppin’, hip-swaying, soul-singing with the stranger next to you. It’s the kind of music that encapsulates you into a community of sound, one that becomes familiar once you hear it, like maybe, you’ve been listening to them forever.
