About This Event
Eli Waltz is an Americana folksinger, songwriter and bandleader.
Eli incorporates a fingerpicking style modeled on folk legend Townes Van Zandt, and draws upon the vocal stylings of Ray Lamontagne and John Lee Hooker.
His songwriting is heavily influenced by the works of Kris Kristofferson and Bob Dylan.
Eli was inspired early on by recordings of Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter. They and other blues giants influence Eli’s gruff, dynamic singing voice—as well as his impassioned harmonica solos.
For Eli, travel and music are inextricably linked. He cut his teeth busking in the streets of Medellin, Tel-Aviv, and Dali, China. And for a long spell, he lived and performed in Beijing. Eli Waltz now lives in Washington, D.C.
His group performs regularly in the DMV, with upcoming tours around the country.
